We Rode the Storm Out....

A semi-official KAWA Event was held on Saturday, July 24, 2010. All of our KAWA riders and boats turned out in full force. The weather was great all day except for a south wind going up the river, which caused rough riding water. However for our Sky Ski riders that did not slow them down and they tore up the river. While enjoying a few drinks down at Waterstreet Bar & Grill a bit after dusk, a huge storm was headed our way. With over a 45 minute boat ride back to Smitty's Marina, we quickly headed back up river. The night sky was lit by the full moon on our right and on our left large amounts of lighting lit our way back up the river. Luckily everyone was able to get the boats off the river and covered up before the down pour hit. All in all it was a great success and with plenty of summer left there are more KAWA Days left to come.
